Dad Braids Club: Wherever You Are, I’m With You (1)

A reminder that none of us are doing this alone.

Estimated read time: 4 min

My daughter turned 6 this week - and wow, what a chapter we’re in.

Last night we threw her an “almost sleepover party.” 5pm to 9pm. Ten kindergarten girls in pajamas, sleeping bags, stuffies, and full chaos mode.

I cleared the entire living room. Every blanket and pillow in the house came downstairs. Fairy lights, faux candles, lanterns - super cozy!

We made melty beads. Painted nails. Temporary tattoos. Jewelry making. Sushi and pizza. And capped the night off with My Neighbor Totoro.

By the end, I was exhausted… but my heart? Fuller than it’s ever been.

This is peak little-girl chapter - and it is sooooo fun.

People often tell me how they miss the 2-4 year stage. The sweetness. The cuddles. The tiny voices. Its just cute overload. And I get it - those years are magic.

But I don’t want to carry a premature sadness for a time I can’t hold onto forever. This whole Dad Braids thing is really about one core idea: Be present enough now that you won’t look back with regret later.

I don’t want Future Me saying: “I wish I had slowed down and soaked it in… I missed it.”

I want Future Me saying: “Wow… that chapter was so sweet. One of the best of my life. And I was there for it. I felt it. I lived it.”

Because when we show up now - fully - we shape the relationship we’ll have with them later. I want to be excited for every new chapter as she grows. Not clinging. Not grieving the past.

Just grateful, present, and ready for the next adventure.

📸 Community Highlights

Some amazing photo submissions came in this week - from first braids to full-on intermediate styles. Every time I see your posts, it reminds me how much good there is out there.

Over 400,000 of us now… what a gift. I never could’ve imagined this when I made my first video!

If you ever want to share a braid or a story, reply to this email or DM me anytime. I truly love seeing them.

A quick heads up…

Black Friday sales on the Dad Braids Toolbox and Scrunchie Course start at the end of this week.

They’re selling fast, and I expect this sale to completely sell out the first batch.

🗳️ Poll of the Week

For those of us in the United States - its Thanksgiving this week! One of my fav holidays we have. A time to be grateful, present, and slow down with the ones we love.

Most Meaningful Thanksgiving Moment

From last week: What’s your kid’s favorite after-school vibe right now?

And “coloring and crafts” was the HUGE winner! I feel that - thats exactly what we do in our house.

✌🏻 Final Thought

These are the days we’ll want back someday. Not to relive them - but to remember them clearly.

To say: “I was there. I noticed it. I loved it while it was happening.”

Thanks for being here, dads. Thanks for showing up - in big ways and small ones. Here’s to another week of doing the work that matters most.
